• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Santa Ken visits the North Pole

I just returned from North Pole, Alaska. 7,660 miles from San Clemente on a 2014 Rt-S SE 6. I left on 8-16 in 104 heat on I-5. Prior to departure I put on a new Arachnid rear tire and some Federal Evo's up front. I visited Spyders in the Redwoods and had Squared Away do a Laser alignment. On a level road it tracks hands-free straight. It has stayed this way even after the dreaded road near Destruction Bay. The tires look good after this trip, wearing evenly and holding stable pressure. We traveled many of same roads Anne and her group did this month prior. We had little rain, but a lot of cold. We did not pull a trailer and mileage average fuel consumption was in the high 30's and exceeded 40 on a number of occasions. Only problem: a screw backed out in the dashboard, on the 30 mile pothole road out of Destruction Bay.
The machine ran flawlessly even on regular fuel. It started up when the temps were in the low 30's and ran well all day when in century plus heat. Great Adventure!
Next Adventure: Great Lakes tour. Open to advice/suggestions.

Sounds like your trip went well. That is amazing that your rear tire is still in good shape. What pressure did you run in it? I've decided that 30 isn't enough in the Arachnid that I have on my Spyder, 2,500 miles and the outside edges are wearing (it is not the new compound)

That road out of Destruction Bay is something everyone should experience. Anyone that is thinking about making the trip should go for it, the Spyder is quite capable of handling the journey.

Congratulations..!!

sounds like an amazing trip. Seems your problems were wee small ones. glad to hear everything went well including good mileage. Your getting into the 40's will give the rest hope...:roflblack::roflblack: the lakes should be nice if you get there before the winter...
