Still think it's funny? Would you tell this kind of joke at a public gathering? Would you want your kids telling jokes of this nature? Would you encourage them to do so?

I like a good joke as well as, maybe even better, than most. Doesn't matter if it's corny, clean, political, raunchy or any combination thereof. What I don't like are ethnic jokes or jokes of any type that demean people whose only offence was to be born of a certain nationality or race or believe in the "wrong" religion.

I'm not complaining to get this post pulled or locked. But I will make a stand against this type of behavior here, at work, in a restaurant, or wherever it occurs and I'm aware of it.

I'm sure that there are many others who would agree with me but who don't want to "rock the boat". I just wish they would summon the courage to make a stand, as well. Staying silent gives tacit approval to this type of harrasment. We as a group, and as a nation, are better than this.

I know this might not be a way to make some happy but I know that it will make others happy. So come on guys (and gals), give a second thought before posting or saying things of such a denigrating nature. The world will be a better place if you do.

I know it is supposed to be a joke, but I have a hard time believing that if the joke would have been inserted with African American, caucasian or any other race or religion that it would have been accepted with the same response. Thanks for speaking out, there is enough hate in the world without the need for tastless jokes.

Who knows you may have a fellow Spyder rider that is Muslim that wears a (diaper head) turban, taqiyah or other religious head piece of thier choice right here on the very forum that is to bring all riders together regardless of race or religion.

Being of Irish descent, I hear a lot of Irish jokes and they don't bother me in the least and I laugh along with those around me. I'm not offended by a joke and one older woman I had just met, looked at me and said, "You look like a GD Irishman"! I said, yes I am and proud of it! She went on to say, I bet you spend your days wrapped around a bottle. I said there was a time I did, but not in the last 34 years, going on 35 and I could have stuck around to find out what her problem was, but ended the conversation and walked away. I didn't want to hear her problem with the Irish, that was her problem not mine and the same goes with posts I see on here. If I don't like the post, I move to the next one, without comment.

Last Saturday night, I went to a dinner to raise money for a biker friend who is stuck in France. His wife is struggling to make ends meet. I told this joke to a friend and he wanted me to tell it again. I did and also told another, I posted here about an engineer who was sent to hell and got bored. The friends I ride with are of all nationalities and religions and not one took offence. It was a joke and put smiles on a lot of faces including my friends wife. Sunday was the Poker run, that I couldn't go on because of old wounds on both lower legs and had a four layer dressing from my toes to just below my knees. The wounds are from my time in the military from 1969 to 1972, that to this day break out. I gave my friends wife an envelope with $250.00 to help her.

After reading the previous posts by a few, I thought about deleting my profile here. Instead I will not be posting anymore jokes here since they seem to rub a few the wrong way. I will say I'm not one that believes in the political correctness and IMOP, political correctness has replaced Common Sense.

I will not make another statement about this subject. Say what you will, I have thick skin and an open mind!
