• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ryker Knock Off

gkamer

Sadly passed away, December '23.
China tries to get into the Ryker market with this knock off......Top speed 55-60.....

Certainly has ground clearance!
I suppose that top speed would suffice for a city commuter.

Tuesday, I stopped at Lowes in Bullhead City, AZ, coming back from ranch and saw Axis 500 side by sides for $7,999.
Well equipped with roof, windshield, front winch, 4WD, decent size fuel tank, dump bed, 2 year warranty...but where would one obtain parts?!

Lowes does not sell them in Nevada.

If it's the Massimo, I don't quite feel comfortable about their "improved aerodynamic fork" feature. Wonder if the previous version, assuming there was one, was non-aerodynamic, or whether they recently discovered improved aerodynamics. Regardless, it don't suspect Ryker sales will suffer.

Hardly a competitor for Ryker.
The Ryker is afterall a quite high performing trike in the premium segment, while this looks to be bordering close to the toy segment.
It may have some uses as a relatively cheap transport for commuting at low speeds etc. Not anything I would ever buy, but maybe there is a market for it :)

Just some intersting things:
1. Drum brakes! on a bike/trike in 2020! that's funny
2. 177cc and 9hp combined with 419lbs weight, that's going to be slooooooooow!
3. Some tweaks and it could look allright, but that headlight doesnt do the bike any favours...

Any competition for Can-Am is good for us. Ask Honda how many 125cc scoots they have sold to date - millions. It’s just another lower price point to get more riders into the segment; happy to wave when they roll by....

Why would you use motorcycle tyres on the front? One advantage of the Ryker and Spyder is that the front tyres have a square profile = more rubber on the road.

I could see it being a three-wheel alternative to the Kimco scooters in urban areas like college towns. It would need some luggage options to be practical. I'm trying to be more open minded for 2021.
