• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ryding to the cold

On Sunday, Dec 6th, I took a girlfriend for a ryde. It was 2 degrees celcius in Courtenay on Vancouver Island. Way too warm to ryde... so we went looking for cold. We rode up to our local ski resort, at about 5000 ft above sea level to where it was -7 degrees celcius (19.4 F). Found some good snow to take pictures of my Spyder in. http://www.mountwashington.ca/ is the resort. It's world class.

yes Sunday was a great day for a ryde in the great northwest. If you ever get to this side of the border give me a call maybe we can go for a ryde

Where are your gloves??? Aren't your hands freezing??

 Too cold for me. Nice and bright though. Looks like you had some fun!!

Did you wear any other gear besides the Can-Am Leathers and the hooded sweatshirt? If not then you must have some pretty thick blood. ;) :congrats:

Most days in the winter it's jeans, chaps, t-shirt, heated vest, hooded sweatshirt and jacket... when it's dry. Wet weather requires a bit more creativity. But I've ridden the 30 KM's from home to work at -15 degrees celcius or 5 degrees F. Being on the coast, it's a damp cold though, makes it seem worse. LOL
Just love ryding this Spyder of mine. Now have just 400 km's to go untill 63,000 km's or 31,140 miles.

Thanks for the info. I have the GT Leather Jacket in Gray and Black, and was wondering if it would be warm enough for cold weather ryding here as well. We usually don't get below 0 farenheit here so I may be okay. ;)

Coastal BC is pretty mild, as long as you dont head into the mountains. About my only concessions to winter are a sweater under my leather jacket and I switch to a full face helmet. I wear boots but no chaps and use a 23 inch BRP shield, which keeps the wind off my gauntlets. None of that electrical heater stuff for me, but I always carry raingear. Gorgeous day out today, think I'll go for a spin.

ryde

wish i could go for a ryde to day it is beautiful but have mine tore apart for risers and new pegs:gaah:
