• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ryding after dark

I prefer to ryde at night! during the summer it's cooler and there is less(sometimes NO ) traffic and it just seems the trips goes by quicker. and it true my eyes aren't as good as they were but night driving glasses(yellow tint)I can see preety good and headlight glare is not too bad.

Tobor,
Are you ready to go riding??

My first motorized two-wheeler was a Solex, the old single cylinder that was friction drive to the front wheel. The magneto fed the tiny front light, even revving down the road a bic lighter probably put out better light. At idle, what light? My RT-S has plenty of light for me.

There are challenges to ryding after dark.

I live in the back of beyond.
One of the things that made Glo & I really love the Spyder is ryding at night on these back roads.
The second day we had it Glo woke me up at 3:10 AM and said "C'mon I want to go for a Spyder ride"

We rode until dawn.
The next three days we did the same thing.

Deer and other critters have to be dealt with.
But, the rewards are amazing.
That warm air engulfing you.
That big Rotax purring.
You see distant lights.
Whizzing by houses filled with people asleep and unaware of the fun we were having.

Glo giggled and I smiled.
It made us feel like kids again.

That sounds like loads of fun, Roger. We always enjoyed riding at night, being out in the cool air and feeling the temperature change when you drop down in a low spot or come up on a hill. It's an experience you just can't get any other way. But the deer have gotten so thick and the drought has driven them out into the bar ditches to hunt for a little bit of green that it's just too dangerous for us any more. Maybe it's also a little bit of slower reflexes, poorer eyesight, and old age, but the end result is that we just don't ride after dark any more unless we just get caught out. Cotton

Can't comment on the night riding but John Doe is awesome, his song, meanest man in the world, always fires me up for my job!
