There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Did they do the rear seat too? How firm is it?

You can choose to have the rear seat done for a specific passenger (via photos etc) or if there is only a passenger very occasionally, have it done "standard", which is cheaper but doesn't come with a comfort guarantee (although you can be 99% sure it will be comfortable if you have an average sized passenger). Daylong do not have a break in period like the Corbin and do not start out firm. They are comfortable from the get go, with their "springs" and "wings" keeping them that way.:clap:

On mine, I chose to have them recover the rear only to match the new front. No reconstruction of the foam and support. The passenger seat is seldom used on my bike and preferred the flat top of the stock seat as I place a large duffle bag there when traveling. RDL does offer a full suspension upgrade for the passenger seat like they did for the front. Others here have that option and may post pics.
Mine is done in the full real leather cover. Waffled a bit on the cost but after 15,000 miles on the seat, It was worth every dime. The leather holds up great and is very soft.

I'm curious about their seats, but I have always been a Corbin fan. I like the firm support the Corbin has.
Problem is the Corbin for the F3 comes as a one-piece unit and the rear seat (which I will rarely use) looks horrible.
My other option is the Corbin with the smuggler trunk... Which is probably what I'll end up going with.

Why do you "like the firm support the Corbin has", Firefly? Surely it's because it gives you the most comfort? If yes, you will get just as much comfort out of the Daylong, guaranteed. Just because it's softer and doesn't need a break in period doesn't mean it is any less comfortable. It's not a soft wallowing seat.

I guess I'm just biased against seats that feel soft due to the horrible stock BRP seats which are way too soft. I put 100,000 miles between my two Corbin seats and they felt great.
Looks are important as well.

Is the RDL seat wider than the factory BRP seat (driver)? I am looking for something a little wider than the factory BRP seat to help increase comfort on longer rides. Thanks,

On my return trip from the Red Rock Rally I stopped and spent a couple hours at Russell....have heard for years how "great their seats are"....Decision made I will do ride in and have them build me a new all leather driver seat, recover my BRP driver backrest (RDL said they are good backrests..equal to theirs) and do as you did and just have passenger covered to match. I also carry few passengers and a dry bag (or box of apples!!!). My ride in date is mid May on my way to join the Run to the Wall "party"...figure by the time I ryde it to WA DC and then to Valcourt and home I should know if I like it!!!:yikes:

Jay at RDL explained their custom fit construction. Because of their detailed pictures of you on your Spyder and all the measurements...it is built to fit you. He showed how from the 100 # to 400# butt or anything in between it would be constructed. I was a 110k mile Corbin fan on my RTs......but RDL gets my seater business this go around!!!:yes: Jay did mention that they don't share your dimensions with anyone!!! LOL

Ann, I live about 2 1/2 hours from Russell Cycle Products. I told Mark and Charlyne Baker I would ride up with them when they get their appointments set up. Same goes for you guys, I worked with Jay at Russell, great guy, he kept me informed with a couple calls during the build process. I will basically ride up with anybody who would like company. Send me a PM to set it up.

YES! It does a MUCH better job of spreading your weight across your butt. No 'hard spots'. I could only ride an hour at a time on the stock seat. The RDL is truly an all day affair. The butt comfort is not the limit for our travel stops.....Its Louise bladder...as it should be I suppose
