• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Running on one cylinder.

:dontknow:I was out for a drive yesterday and after about 60 miles it started to miss and back fire. Today it ran fine for about 20 miles then started to run on one cylinder, then back to normal, then back to one cylinder. Could this be a spark plug issue?

Could be any number of things, sparkplug, loose wire, bad wire, bad coil, even a plugged injector. Start with the easy stuff. Replace the plug, then check for good spark, no spark jumping, no cracks in plug wire insulation, etc. Or...take it to the dealer and let him puzzle over it for a while. Don't continue to ride it like this, you could damage the engine.

Any mods, such as a juice box? I went thru 3 of them, same thing you are describing. Running great, then one cyl would shut down.

I agree with Scotty, whatever you do don't continue to ride it like that. Bad Mojo for sure! :yikes:

I was curious as to how you could tell it was running on one cylinder.... i get the sputtering, surging etc randomly and once i get it, it hangs around until the machine sits turned off for a while. Could you tell when you came to a stop and was at idle? just wondering

Running on one cylinder.

:shocked: I had a like problem to that effect. I rode to work just fine, but the next morning was all bad. Started the machine and found myself on one cylinder. It had a really bad fire rate and would not hold an idle. I you are still under warranty, take it in! I found out that the main engine computer had fail and needed to be replaced. Lucky for me BRP picked up the bill. I sounds like you are getting a warning of a problem.

I am all good now. Think about it.

I had the same problem than you a few weeks ago... It was the Sparkplug in fact... Changed by my dealer :mad: a few days before,so new ones.
As I made some mods on my machine in the mean time ( EVO air filter, TB dual exhaust, JB, Cranckcase, Canisterectomy), I thought I made a mistake, so I went back to the factory settings in order to analyze the problem... I spent a couple of hours...
Here in France a couple of guys had this problem with sparkplug : in fact, if the left spark is easy to change, the right one is difficult to if you have the montruous BRP's air filter ( You have to take it off if you want to reach correctly the spark).
Some dealers do the process corectly, somes... not : Right spark broken, not inserted corectly, etc.
Take a look to the spark plug. U'll have to take off the air filter;
For me now, with the EVO air filter+JB+New NGK iridium Sparks, my Spyder is a brant new one and breath as never before :ohyea:
In two day, I'll ride to our Spyderfest in Austria ( 400 Spyders :2thumbs:).
Hope my bad experience with sparks will help you.
You can try another thing too : Control your O2 sensor, clean it, it can help.

doudy, im thinking your problem is the problem i am experiencing as well. going to change plugs as well, and see what happends. Sorry not meaning to highjack this thread.
