• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Running on empty

Dedicated hoses. How many stations are going to comply with that. They will have to pass the cost on to, you got it, the consumer. So the price of fuel goes even higher. But there is one caveat, the amount of fuel remaining in a typical fuel hose is very minimal. My suggestion, carry more StarTron.

I say give it another year or two and ethanol will have gone the way of the Dodo bird. It makes no sense and someone will eventually get it. Then they can pay farmers for not growing corn for use as fuel and everyone will be happy.

With the corn crop pretty much trashed this year--what is that going to do with the price and availability of ethanol fuel. Have not seen this topic mentioned? or did I miss it?

Fortunately, we do not have that problem in AK. Gas prices are high enough though.

Alcohol and Gasoloon

Unfortunately, the nut cases at EPA don't seem to care about facts. It is pretty well known that ethanol in gasoline is a waste of what could be good tacos or bourbon. They don't care that the science they used to justify this is garbage. We need to change the government and go back to burning oil and eating or drinking corn.

Most of the corn crop was used for livestock feed. When the government mandated ethanol & the corn lobbyists got Congress to mandate that corn would be the main source, we suddenly had the perfect storm that happens when you start burning your food. Because corn became so much more valuable as a crop, the price went up. Costs for everything that uses corn, food, livestock, dairy, etc. went up too. Priced a steak recently? Also, when farmer Jones realized he could make a lot more money raising corn than pretty much any other crop, the costs of most other crops went up because the supply went down.

Simple economics, but still too complicated for Congress to understand...

:gaah: Screw this... I'm going for a ride! Then I'll watch some Football and NASCAR to help me forget this kind of crap! :gaah:
