• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

rumbling exhaust?

I have ridden Harleys for years, and still love the sound of a nice pipe. Just wondering if there are any after market pipes out there that will fit my 2012 RT, that will give me the same low, throaty rumble?
 
I dont think anything is going to match the HD rumble on a Spyder, but I have had 4 different exhausts on RTs and the one with the deepest tone so far is the YOSHIMURA R77 (with the Tip-Insert removed).

45% Potato- Potato, Many have tried to match that sound,
But they'll never match the [for good or bad] feel......
 
Don't know if it will fit the RT, but even HD guys at work say that's one Bad*** pipe. Check HMF out. If HMF doesn't have enough bite, there are a few others, but they are screaming eagle loud (punisher style, or tail gunner).

I to have riden Harleys for years and was hoping to get the deep throaty sound with different exhausts unfortinally i havent found one that would do it so i went with a Two Brothers it screams but not what i had hoped for.

A straight pipe for me.

I wanted more sound from my 2012 RT S, so I had a local muffler shop build me a straight pipe, with a stainless steel tip. It looks good and the sound is good, not as loud as a Harley, and no potato potato. Just got back from a 1000 mile trip with my Harley friends and they gave it a positive grade. I thought at first it would be too loud but after riding all day for 2 days I have grown to love it. I can listen to the tunes coming from the stock speakers with out full volume. It has its own sound, but pleasant. I'm not a kid, I'm 70 years old and still feel like a youngster.

If you did I said nothing, but if you went back far enough to pull a dual straight pipe you may get a bit closer to the illusive sound...:dontknow:

Not gonna find one. Harley has a single pin crank and Spyders has dual pin cranks. Harley low RPM engine, Spyder high RPM engines. Hindle to me sounds the best.

The 2013 Maintenance Manual clearly shows the Spyder Rotax to have a single pin crank.
 
Not a Harley Sound Expert but - Kewlmetal Air Intake + Two Brothers Carbon Fiber M5 definitely changes the attitude of my RT!
 
If you really like the sound of a Big-Twin; buy one!
The Spyder just sings in a different octave.
But it DOES sing! :thumbup:

Went back and looked. I (Assume)famous word, it had a dual pin being a high rpm and over 100 hp. Oh well still not going to sound like a Harley.
