• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi All !!

When I get up to 70 mph, I feel a rumble (only descriptive word I can think of) underneath my bike.
It lasts till about 78 or so.
Going up to 70ish, its all smooth, then the rumble till around 78, then smooth again.
Weird !! Can't figure what it is.

When that starts to happen, kick it down a gear. Should go away. If so, it is just the belt vibrating. Depending on belt tension, you will get that happening at specific speeds/RPM.

Yep, the uncomfortable belt slap/vibe from the underside of the belt. We all paid top $ for that - like oil in airbox etc etc! Buy or make an idler to run on it as discussed elsewhere.

Thanks everyone !!

So its normal... Thought I might have issues..

Freddy you are kinda right. Paying this kinda money >> should not be a vibration issue from the belt.

You might have an issue. This is a pretty high speed to have the typical vibration. Could indicate improper belt teension. It should be checked. Excessive vibration couls also mean the engine or torque stay is hitting the frame. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?32475 This won't hurt anything, but is annoying and can be corrected.

Thanks NancysToy !!!

I have to bring my bike into shop for 600 mile service. I will explain to them the issues that I am feeling and have them look into it.
Hopefully will be an easy fix.

Two things to consider. First, you may be experiencing a type of harmonic where the engine and tranny vibrations synch up and become pronounced at a particular speed and R.P.M. I have had at least three bikes do this. The service techs would tell me it is just an annoying phenomenon that I don't need to worry about.:gaah: However, I too just had the 600 mile service on my RT and the service manager informed me that the cradle the motor sits in was bent and rubbing on the frame. It was a known issue that BRP covered, the repair added several more days to the service. It was handled at no charge and she now purrs like a kitten. Check your oil level religeously after any rides longer than 100 miles. With aggressive riding I have gone from full to add on the dipstick in under 200 miles:yikes:. I bought a gallon of the oil and put a NAPA clear flexible oil filler tube on the container and keep it where I park as a reminder.
