• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rubber Straps for mono seat cowling?

Grizz

New member
Does anyone know where I can purchase the rubber straps that go to the mono cowling for the passenger seat? The first time I took it off, I broke 2 of the straps.

If I were you, I'd go by a couple of lobsters. Save that big rubber band from the claws. LOL

A dual purpose purchase.

I would recomend using the velcro trick. I also broke 2 of mine the first time taking it off so i replaced them with velcro straps and it made life so much easier. Install time 30 seconds removal time 15 seconds. It took me 10 min to install using the rubber straps.

What I did......

I also broke mine with 2wks. Take two bungiee coords and cut the ends off. Make a tight knot at each end (may have to cut a few times to get the proper length/tension)...but it works very well...i take mine off and on in seconds.

Probably a stupid question, BUT:

I'm thinking of getting a Corbin seat for my Spyder. Is it possible to get the mono seat cowl for the passenger portion and then just get the Corbin driver seat? OR does the mono seat cowl just cover the existing passenger seat?? I can't tell by the pictures.

Hope I'm not being TOO stupid! :banghead:

Thanks!

The mono seat cowl just fits on the existing passenger seat portion of the stock seat. If you are getting the Corbin seat, you have to get both the Corbin front and the Corbin rear seat. If you really wanted the BRP seat cowl and an upgraded seat, you could try a Russell seat and have them leave the passenger seat as stock. The BRP seat cowl should fit that setup just fine.

so you mean I can't go to the Corbin warehouse and just ask for a driver seat to custom fit with the BRP mono seat cowl:(:dontknow:

I've never seen a Corbin seat on a Spyder that had only the front seat. Somebody who has installed a Corbin on their Spyder can certainly chime in on this but I believe that you must buy both the front and rear Corbin seats to mount them. :dontknow:

I would like to hear from others because that was (is) my plan to go get a custom corbin but keep the cowl on:shocked:
