• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RTS Right and Left turn Dissimilar

.....By the way, don't bother calling that wonderful DPS hotline phone number that BRP has because all you get is some blond telling you to call your dealer - Now that was real helpful . . . .
The hotline is only for questions and answers, not technical support. You need to use the BRP Spyder Support email to get Carlo involved. Be sure to include your VIN# in the subject line to get proper attention. If you want to get some use out of this vehicle, contact BRP, get a good dealer involved (search out a new one if necessary), and leave the vehicle in the dealership instead of your garage, until it is fixed to your satisfaction. Experiment if you like, but this problem is resolvable, and that is best done by a competent dealer.

Appreciate the input really do - but if the alignment is already off, them it doesn't make much difference either way - the bike is unusable the way it is. If you guys are happy steering that thing 100% of the time for every imperfection in the road, or slight wind gust, then great, I own both an older Spyder and a Goldwing that I can drive in a normal manner without babysitting. If this thing does not drive normal, it's going on craigslist. Remember looking good and riding good (safe) is two different things!

You guys are still wrong on the zeroing bit - by moving the toe-in or out does not change the relationship of the center of the steering nor the linkages to the DPS. For the most part - the DPS has no idea at all of the position of the tire(s) other than the feedback back to the linkages. If a tire or set of tires are not toe-in correct, it causes the a + or - pressure or feedback on the linkage. As the tire(s) tend to correct their path of travel, it feeds this pressure back to the linkages and the DPS tends to correct the problem. This is the exact reason maybe 50% of the RT and RTS's, are unstable.

The biggest problem is; instead of most riders addressing the problem so BRP corrects the over-reactive DPS unit, they are unnecessarily trying to change their riding habits to cope with it. When a manufacture assigns a specialist team to the DPS problem, you can rest assured it's more than just an alignment problem, there's a safety issue. I ain't 18 no more where I could come off a bike at 40 mph and in 6 months climb back on - when you go down at my age, stuff don't get better any more.

The truth of the matter is; the perfect alignment (if obtainable) only masks the real problem - the Spyder touring bike is still broken.

Words don't quite cover the frustration of talking in circles. When you take it to a dealer , have the alignment set AND THE DPS AND SIDE FORCE SET , let us know how it rides...
