There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. RTS Rear Wheel

All,

I'm on my Second Rear tire. The current tire is OEM and I'm running the proper pressure, but the center still is going bald. This tire only has about 8K on it. I'm thinking of going to a Michellen Car tire. Thoughts and comments are welcome. I ride everyday and put a lot of miles on this bike. I have tried adjusting the pressure on the last tire and run between 25 and 28psi to maintain the life of the tire.

Kumho Ecsta

I'm running the Kumho Ecsta, and loving it. I'm anxious to see how long it lasts. I've heard fantastic results on durability. If you order from Discount, don't tell them it's for a bike. I had no issues, but have heard of others that were refused service.

There are some dealers, that will only put a Kenda on the Spyder...
Check with yours, before showing up with an automotive tire.
But you'll be pleased with the results!

Tire

Thanks for the input. Are there any videos out there that show how to remove the rear tire? I have been all over youtube but havent had any luck. I have been doing my own front tires, but haven't messed with the rear tire yet.

michelin tires are doing great so far

recently put Michelin defenders on all three wheels thanks to Netzley tire just hoping winter holds off so I can enjoy them some more...a lot better so far than original Kendas...one size down in the rear and up one size up front...can't wait till spyderquest and my big ride in july

Have you checked with Lamont? He must have posted a video about this...

When you change from a purpose built motorcycle (or Spyder) tire to an automobile tire, you are trading away traction for longevity. With any tire design, regardless of manufacturer, there is always that trade-off. Hard tires last longer but soft sticky tires provide much better traction. I would venture to say that most Spyder riders would not notice much difference because Spyders don't ride close to the edge of traction anyway. Recently, a BRP rep came on the forum and announced that their most recent design went too far in the direction of traction at the expense of mileage and they are going back to an older design that lasts longer. I am anxious to hear how long the new (old) design lasts. If I remember correctly, he said the very newest Spyders have the longer lasting formulation.

Go to Lamonster Garage. Good vids there and one covers rear wheel removal.

Although not EXACTLY on point, this might help.

if you have an rts you should have disconnected the height sensor because if you don't the sensor bracket will be bent.ask me how I know,I bent the bracket the first time I removed the rear wheel ,went for a ride and wife said spyder was rideing terrible, had to remove bracket and straighten it
