• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RTS - Problem with Side Compartments

Has anyone had any problem with doors opening while ryding? Unfortunenatly I have! On my way to work Wednesday morning @ 6am, indicator came on but I thought it was the rear compartment. I started to dismount with my right leg, the left side door was open, my foot went into it and I lost my balance falling backwards. Ripped the door completely off, landed on my back, hit my head, thankfully I had my helmet on. Brusied my tail bone and my left hip. Needless to say, with the bike only two months old, it is not from over use. Will see what my dealer will do tomorrow.

YES I HAD MINE COME OPEN ON A RIDE BUT THE PERSON BEHIND ME TOLD ME ABOUT IT AND SO NOW I REALLY CHECK THEM WHEN I CLOSE THEM AND GIVE A PULL TO MAKE SURE IT IS COMPLETLY LATCHED....HOPE ALL GOES WELL AT THE DEALER AND GLAD YOU ARE OK.....;)

I had a bear of a time with my left side bag popping open every 5-10 miles. Had it to the dealer 3 times in one day before he finally pulled the mechanism of a new RT and put it on mine and then it popped open on the 75 mile trip home .I finally took the panel of that goes around the handles at the back and adjusted the cable myself . I know this doesn't help you now and I hope you can get it fixed under warranty.

Another take. The airseal is so tight on the side bags and trunk--if you try to slam the doors shut, you will most likely not be successful. I give mine a gentle nudge shut, and then pull on them to make sure they are locked tight.

Ours use to pop open if i was too gentle in closing it; now, I slam it shut fairly roughly and then give it a pull and so far haven't had any further problems.

At the MC show in Chicago people would open the side bags but could not get them to stay closed unless they/we really slamed them shut. I don't know if even then they would have stayed closed going down the road. I test rode one and made it down the road about a mile before the left side bag opened. :yikes: On GIVI bags many use velcro around the handle but this is not an option on the RT.
