• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

about to drop good money on an 2011 checking over dealers. is there anything else i should check or bargan with dealer:dontknow:

I was at my dealership today looking at the Limited Edition, and the only thing I found that was extra over the other RT's was it includes all the travel bags, the special logo seat, and the GPS. Dealer MSRP is $28.099. Personally I can't justify the extra money for the travel bags, and especially that way too expensive GPS. The White color is great, but still not going to pay top dollar for what extras I would get. The dealer did discount the L.E. for me, but would do the same on any other RT.

The one I'm really thinking of is the Viper Red SE-5 RTS.

The only advise I can give you is to just shop around for the best price.

Remember you only get what you pay for, a cheap dealer might not be the best dealer for warranty issues and technical know how to fix and service your :spyder: Just my .02 worth

YES, when you sit down to sign some of them will ask if you want the BEST extended warranty or their own extended warranty. This is where they can make some money so if they know you r interested they will give a little more in other areas.

Same thing goes for prepaid service policies. Also if you are considering getting the trailer your best time to get it to negotiate price would be all together. Same thing goes for any extra stuff like GPS (can't see riding with out it ) XM or CB and what the install price would be. Once you sign on the dotted line, everything changes except for what you were previously able to negotiate.

Also when you go to the dealership, you want to meet ahead of time the service dept. and find out who would be qualified to work on your bike, go over and shake his hand and get a feel for whether he is on top of it. That can make all the difference in the world. If you pay but can't play.........life is no fun. ;)

If it is at all possible, closest dealer is the first choice, however if another dealer gives you a slayer deal, you still wanna check out the closer dealers service dept. Also are you gonna do the maintenance or the dealership. (makes a difference on the answers given.

Good Luck and have a blast and let us know what u end up with

Nothing says you need to have your RT repaired where you buy it. Spyder servicing costs a bomb (if you don't do the work yourself). So get the best deal you can on the bike - where ever you can & enjoy it. A dealer that won't work with you in this market, probably won't be around when/if things get better... JMHO

All good advice above. My take has always been to work as much as possible with the dealer who will be servicing my bike. The cheaper dealers usually cut costs--by having poor service. The Spyder is very technical and I prefer to have competent, knowledgeable people working on the bike. Example: I have purchased 7 bikes since 2001 from the same dealer--includcing 3 spyders. They got a new service manager. My ex spouse needs the DPS fix on her 2009. She went to the dealer and the new service manager said there were 8 people in line and she would have to wait until May 16th or later. I called the owner, who knows me well, she brings the Spyder in for service and DPS fix tomorrow morning.
