• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RTS Backrest

The BRP backrest is larger than the Utopia but the BRP one is not adjustable. I'd suggest sitting on a Spyder with one on before you order it. See if your dealer has one in stock and try it on your Spyder. They are expensive so you need to be sure it will work for you. I happen to really like mine but I have the Comfort Seat. I had a Utopia on my old Spyder and I could not ever get it adjusted right for me. Having the Tri Axis Handlebars makes a big difference too. Without them you may not be able to actually use the backrest.

:agree:
I bought one for my stock seat and with no adjustment for the BRP backrest I just couldn't get comfortable.
I ended up getting a Ultimate seat w/ backrest and couldn't be happier.
Just wish I'd tried out the BRP backrest first and saved the $530 I dropped on it...

 What'd you do with the backrest?? ;)

Yes what did you do with the back rest? I'll give you a $100.00 for it :2thumbs:

This is too funny, just as I was starting to type and respond to you guys my dealer phones with a a buyer for my seat & backrest.
The Guy wanted a Spyder with a Chocolate Brown seat which they didn't have.
Guys getting a killer deal, $500 for the seat, backrest & passenger backrest!

Thanks guys.
The OEM backrest folds forward to allow the passenger easy access.
I"be already devised a scheme so a quick trip to the weld shop should be all I need.
Yes Bob,I'll post pictures.

Hubby just installed the factory backrest on my stock '14 RT seat. At first it was tilted too far back so hubby put washers under back screws until it was forward enough for me. I've never had a Utopia so I can't comment on that.

Cool! :2thumbs:

I just hated the thought of an unwanted backrest... sitting discarded on a shelf... nobody to talk to...

I miss the backrest on my old Corbin seat - it was fully adjustable, and folded for the passenger. None better IMHO.... If I could put one on my new Spyder's OEM seat, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Half the price of the BRP version

Thanks for the tip. Sounds easier than a trip to the weld shop.
