• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. RT622 modified for Dog passenger

Has anyone modified the Can Am RT-622 trailer for use bringing along their large dog? I have seen the Bush Tec Tow Tow which would be ideal for bringing along a good-sized dog. Wondered if anyone has experience doing this concept with the RT-622?

Inspector Gadget installed a solar vent fan and modified his latch pin to crack the lid open so he could stash the dog in there occasionally, but I don't think he transports it that way, and it is not a large dog. Where there's a will, there's a way.

you betcha

Yep, Wayne, one of our friends who lives in Gold Beach, has a great set up for his dog Sam.
He has a dog box attached to the top of the trailer on an aluminum frame.

:welcome: I wanted to modify mine but now I have 2 golden retrievers and I think that would be too much for the trailer. Have you looked at the Wags trailers? They look like small horse trailers and have windows and vents and a walk in door but are very expensive. Getting your dog to jump into the RT622 might be a problem I could see it getting scratched up each time they got in it. The Tow-Tow has a walk in door.

If you figure something out please post pictures.

I have been talking to Gadget on this issue since I have 3 that I would like to transport in the trailer, but he said he did not feel confident on just a solar fan alone. Besides, we agreed that it would be nice to have some kind of peephole to check on the doggies and they have a view of the scenary. I heard of someone adding a RV bubblehead into one, but that might just been someone talking smalk...:dontknow:

I haven't looked at their website in a while but I think the Bushtec has a bubble type top.

Just took a look at Bushtec's "Tow-Tow". I like this design better than putting a dog in a box. I would think the dog can lie down too in this. Not cheap though! Probably over 4K by the time you get it custom painted to match the Spyder. I do like that you can put the top insert in it to make it a water tight cargo trailer. I like the drop tailgate too. Very well thought out. If I had the bucks to spend, this is what I would get. Unfortunately, no bucks to spend. Oh well.
