• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT with "DPS" Problem

DPS

I had a little over 300 miles and was driving my 2011 RTS SE-5 home in a driving rain. I was going about 30 mph when the "Limp Home" mode come on. Then the DPS code flashed. I stopped, called the dealer and was told to turn the motor off and wait 4 minutes, as this would let it reset itself. I did this and all was good. The next day I went to the dealer and they put their lap-top on it and saw nothing wrong. No problems since then. I now have over a 1,000 miles and all is well. The only other weird thing that happened was that when you want to park and stop the motor, turn the key off and turn it to the left and push the mode button, the radio will play as if you had an accessory switch. This works well as expected. But just as I would swith to this mode, with no motor running, the Limp Home light comes on for about 5 seconds. I showed this to the dealer and they had no explanation. They were surprised to see the Limp Home screen. Again the lap-top exam showed no problems. BTW, the mechanic said he did not know the radio was capable of playing in this accessory type mode. WEIRD!!:dontknow:
I still love this machine and am glad to be an owner!!! I need to charge just to let people look at it. It's like a carnival attraction as it sits idle at my work-place. I've even had it licked by a very hot mama. That's right....I said LICKED!:2thumbs:

Dead Man, I had the same thing at 400 miles...limp mode came on and "check engine" flashed. I removed the key when I went into a service station, came back and all was fine.

I was "slghtly" riding the brake....the slightest pressure for a few moments and not full stopping pressure with set it off....per my Spyder tech...After 1,600 miles and no riding the brake, all is well.

No idea about your radio....

Welcome.

I don't remember the exact drill, but I think it is if you hold the mode button down while turning off the key, the audio will play for 15 seconds (it shuts off and starts back up). Could be another button. I have seen it in the manual, but couldn't find it again. You could have a stuck or malfunctioning button. That can also cause the cluster to do other goofy things.
