• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Windshield Trim Pieces

H2O

The two plastic windshield trim pieces that are chrome or silver - I have seen photos of some Spyderlovers' RTs that had black trim pieces. Were these painted by the owners or was this a factory stock color in previous model years? If this was a factory item in black, does anyone have the part numbers for left and right side? Thanks in advance for the help.

I "think" that you can order black from BRP.

The windshield trim:
The base model and the Audio and Convenience model had them in black.
The earlier RT-S models had Bright chrome.
The Limiteds also came with bright chrome.
Eventually; the Audio and Convenience model was dropped, and the RT-S went to a satin chrome finish on theirs.

I traded the chrome ones off my '12 RT-S to a buddy of mine that has a '10 RT.

I still wasn't happy with the color/finish, so I painted them with Rust-Oleum's #248914 Truck Bed Coating. Virtually all the OEM gray powder coated castings on my bike have been powder coated flat black or painted with the Truck Bed Coating paint.

If you paint your chrome ones, be sure to roughen up the surface first.
