• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Video

The RT-S weighs about three hundred pounds more and has less horsepower (100 vs 106 in my 2008). Definitely for touring and not a sport model.

Some cool stuff that I wish I could get on mine, though, like the adjustable rear suspension, ipod thingy, cruise control. I haven't found the accessories yet, so maybe I can get some of it?

I really like the all black one.:2thumbs:

I'm going to hold judgment to I ride one for a few miles. Near as I can tell they did a really nice job on the RT. I don't have any plans on getting rid of my Spyder but if I was looking at a Wing or the RT I think the RT would get the nod. :doorag:

Agreed, and it's cheaper than a Gold Wing trike. I like the new RT, however I won't be buying one anytime soon... still owe $10K on the first one. :D

We'll just take advantage of those who upgrade and snatch up a used second Spyder to add to our family.

RT is not my cup of tea, i like the sporty ("old school spyder":2thumbs:) look more. However that trailer looks really nice, I wonder what the cost of trailer would be

Thought they would put more power into it.
Maybe they will have an update to give it more power later:roflblack:

You're exactly right! After a year BRP will come out with an update that grows a 3rd cylinder! It will sputter for awhile till the new cylinder is fully formed!

If you don't like the new cylinder you just pinch it off with a clamp!

BRP site shows the price for hitch an trailer to be $4500.00

At last not at work and can watch this :ani29: I wonder if Trekkertrailers is making trailer for BRP looks very close and some lights are exactly the same :ani29:

. I'm wondering if the factory cruise can be dropped onto our spyders??

Nope.

The new RT (if you saw) has an "electronic throttle control" whicH means a "fly by wire" system.

The throttle is nothing more than a reostat that goes to the computer then the computer opens the throttle. (my new Sea-Doo RXT-IS and Patti's new GTX-IS is the same way)

So, now the cruise control is a function built into the main computer as it already knows the speed the bike is going and can then set and hold it to whatever speed you tell it to.

Our new 2009 Sea-Doos have both cruise control and a no wake zone slow speed set as well. They both work great and are along the same lines as this I'm sure.

So, unfortunatly guys like us with "old school" throttle cables won't be able to put this system on ours.

My SM5 with its 990 cc engine is more powerful than my Heritage Softail with it's 1400cc engine was. I know a lot of older Ultra Classic/Goldwing riders who are reaching the point where they're having difficulty holding the big bikes up, especially 2-up. I can see this being a big hit with them. All the amenities they're used to, and I think they'll find it has enough power.
