• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT tensioners

Thank you,

I still have not heard back what the tension will actually change about the bike?
The spyder has a long belt and needs a lot of tension to not vibrate or create harmonics, but this is very hard on the drivetrain components and BRP has lowered the tension considerably, resulting in belt slap and vibration in SOME spyders, which you will feel more than hear, and will eventually lead to fender brackets cracking, filament failure in your light bulbs, etc. The tensioner will apply spring loaded tension to the bottom side of the belt, which will always be the "loose" side while under a load or during acceleration. Sorry, I don't have any "test data" figures, how tension settings affect one spyder may be totally different on another spyder. I fully expect all parts of the tensioner to last much longer than 2 years and if anything breaks or wears out from normal use I will replace it, long after 2 years. You can return it for any reason for a full refund, providing it is in reasonably good shape and hasn't been beat on, I will put it in the "used parts for sale". Sorry, the return shipping and labor involved will be your responsibility

Thanks Jim, that answered the questions, lol... took a while to get there lol...

I only asked about the guarantee since I was not getting a straight answer.

Regards,

Randy

Anyone done this with Spyderpops cat shields on both sides?

I finished the install on my RT LTD today and didn't need to remove the SpyderPops Cat Shields. I lifted the Spyder with a floor jack and placed jack stands under the rear shock and front A arms. This made it easy to access the mounting area. If you have the Cat Shield you will need a 9/16" socket with a foot long extension to tighten down the two mounting bolts. I also had a 12" long 3/8" drill bit that made it easier to drill the two holes.

The only issue I have is with the mounting bracket moved to its max position and all the spacer washers removed from the pulley I only have about a 1/16" space between the belt and edge of the pulley. The large spacer between the tensioner and mounting bracket is not wide enough. The spacer I received is about half the width of the one in the photos in post #1 of this thread. The wider spacer would have been perfect.

Video

Hey Capt. Jim,

So far I love the tennsioner. I have just uploaded a couple of videos to you tube. One is specifically about the accessories that I have on the RT. Go to You Tube and type in JohnSRosamond

It's a static video (I'm not Ryding it), but I did give you credit.
