• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT software update

I received a call yesterday from my dealer about a software update available for my 2011 limited. He wanted to know when I could bring the spyder in. Has anyone heard of this before?:dontknow:

The update is supposed to improve the gas mileage by 15%. :joke: lol

I am going to call my dealer to see if he knows anything, but I am sure the boys will be along with your answer soon.

He may be talking about the throttle body update, Warranty Campaign 2011-0008 (TSB 2011-7). If you have a 2011 RT and have not had this update, you should do so at your earliest opportunity. If you don't, the chances of throttle body failure are greatly increased. Then the throttle body needs to be replaced. If it turns out to be other than this, please let us know.

Interesting how the dealers nationwide got this totally wrong; there is no TB update other that Nov.2011 in BossWeb nojoke

Where did you here this ?:dontknow: I know Lamont had said they where installing an update to get better mileage as a day test and then they uninstalled it from the test bikes. Very interested to know as my dealer hasn't herd anything to that effect .

Update

I called the dealer back to get a better explanation before I took my spyder in for this update. This is on the RT's only and its suppose to "help" with overheating problems. Well, I haven't had a problem with the overheating but he did advise me to accept all these software updates. I take the spyder in on Tuesday so maybe Hubby can get a better understanding of it than I can. I'll keep you posted.

No new updates...

I just had my 4000 mile service (1000 instead of 600, oops, plus 3000 miles) and since I had the service done in Setp-Oct, 2011 until now, there were no new updates to software.

Update

When I called the dealer back for my appointment he did mention that BRP will be contacting me afterwards about the "service" and provide a $50 gift certificate towards BRP products. HMMMM..... maybe they do want to keep track of me. Holy :yikes:!!!!!! I'll keep everyone posted.

mine one goes to the service next week - I waited so long to have the "last" update for the new saison ... so : is there a new software for the SE gearbox or not ????
