• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT SEAT REPLACEMENT ??

Need some help.

One of the threads in the last couple of months had a discussion about the 2010 RT seats and the problems found with those that had not been sewn correctly.

Looking for some input regarding how BRP is handling the replacement of the seats that are flawed. We have a 2010 Premier Edition and the seat material can be lifted about 3 inches above the foam interior.

Any information or suggestions are appreciated.

I have the same problem, at both the top and bottom of the recess. My problem is that the vinyl has shrunken so much that the velcro will no longer attach to both top and bottom, no matter how hard I stretch it, and even if I attach one side, it pulls away as soon as I sit down. I talked to BRP a couple of weeks ago, and they have no solution for the PE Spyders, as yet. They can replace it with a standard seat, but that leaves us with nothing to show for our PE purchase. All we can do is keep hammering on them. The new seats have wires sewn in to hold this recess in place.

Thanks for the help

Appreciate the pics and info from Lamonter and Nancy's Toy. Just finished reading your responses to the RT guy in the family, "9Fingers" ,and he is headed out to the shop to try the Velco reattachment.

I think I may of been the first to complain about this. I'm in the same situation as Scotty. the velcro will no longer hold the cover in position. I have been waiting for over 4 months for BRP to resolve the issue and have been told they can replace it with a non PE seat while wainting for completion of a PE seat resolution. Told them I would wait for the final solution. Several e-mails and telephone calls have only resulted in "it's been refered to our engineering department for a resoultion and we don't know when it will be resolved". Soooooo GOOD LUCK. tHEY have CALLED ME TWICE ABOUT THIS BUT THE ANSWER WAS ALWAYS THE SAME.:gaah:

I'm sorry but I would not wait 4 months for BRP to do something about it. Take it to your local upholstery shop and have them glue it down. Should run you around 20 bucks.

You know,,, Its a warranty issue and I'm waiting. Why should I spend $20 to correct it. Again I'M WAITING.

Gonna send my seat in monday. Not that I am using it but if I ever sell the Spyder, it would be a new seat again.

I agree with Lamont. Why miss out on all the good times waiting on some issue like that. Don't let life pass you by fretting over what others were supposed to do. Especially if it's $20.00.

Just my 2 cents.

I would like to put things in perspective a bit. None of us with the seat problem is missing any riding, we just have comfort and appearance issues. There will not be an appropriate fix forthcoming from BRP unless we report the problem and push to have them make ammends. Yes, we could have an upholsterer try to repair the seat, but it still may not be right. My upholsterer tells me that glue will not hold, and will eventually tear the foam. He also said my vinyl is too shrunken to reglue, anyway. Right now the only viable solution appears to be to dismantle the seat, remove the embroidered panel, then reupholster the seat, sewing in the old panel. Why should I have to pay to do that? It ain't no 20 bucks! :D

Well said.
