• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S options

I have been reading the posts about adapting the audio/comm system. :hun: Seems everyone agrees the BRP system is too expensive. But it seems a shame to waste all those options.:dontknow: Some questions to expose my ignorance. I have the XM radio option, but it will not function without an XM subscription; right? Or does the BRP audio /comm option package include it? I enjoy plugging my little Shuffle into the trunk for my Jimmy Buffet tunes. Is there a way to incorporate that and the am/fm standard radio into one of the other comm systems. How about my Garmin Nuvi?
No Tech Wizard here; so straight out of the box or dealer installation ideas appreciated.:helpsmilie:

Yep, you have to subscribe to XM. Unlike GM, Can Am doesn't have a trial XM deal. Can't answer on the other questions.

:chat: Let me try this anothe way. If I don't buy the full BRP comm's package (helmets, cb, Zumo, etc) and go with some other system and helmets; which RT-S options will not function. Tried to get info from a sales person and they could not tell me:gaah::helpsmilie:

The only thing that they're going to say is ,"Buy our stuff because it will all work together the way that we intended it to." (That, and more sales equals more money... and it still imight not work the way that you WANT it to...)

I guess the lack of replies is because this has been discussed on a ton of threads already. do a quick search on here on this section and the RTS Touring section and you will find your answers.

depends on whats you want to communicate to that is most important, Bluetooth phone, GPS bluetooth, or hardwired. iPhone ... ect Big one do you need the CB Radio?

do you have a passenger or need the intercom system.

so either you work with the SPYDER system and get the COM system including the COM harness and then plug stuff into the Spyder system via the port in the back or you can get a harness for separately that ususually is used for the Garmin OEM option to plug any GPS with an audio output jack on it...

or you go with some 3rd party totally separate BT wireless system seems to be the two main options.

I like the hard wired system no charging just plug in and go... others rave about the BT charged up system for a lot of hours and hours of talk time between charges and no wires to deal with.

I will not guarantee this information as accurate, since I have no direct experience with these, but I think I can do better than a salesman who just shrugs his shoulders.

CB/Comm system - requires audio system and entertainment harness, plus compatible headsets
XM system - requires audio system and entertainment harness, plus XM subscription
Helmet speakers - require CB/Comm system...see above
Bluetooth - Not available

There may be other wrinkles, but this is the way BRP explains it if you dig through their accessories catalog.
