• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S mystery light

I don't have an RT-S handy at the moment, can someone tell me if the area shown by the faint red arrow in the photo below is a light or could be a light (below the fog light). The BRP parts breakdown doesn't show a light here, but a customer has asked for one. Might have to do something custom. Thank you.

Nothing in the area of your arrow except tupperware; probably seeing a reflection

The arrow may be misleading, I'm referring to the area within the chrome fog light trim, near the bottom, is there something there, a light, or an area where LEDs could be added?

I'm pretty sure its one of the 5 LED lights that come with the RTS model ,I also think you can buy this as an option .:dontknow:

There is a spot where one could be mounted like in the headlight area.

Now we're getting somewhere, thanks Dave01!

I can buy the LED units that are currently next to the headlights in the RT-S...will those same LED units fit in the area below the fog light?
(really wish I had an RT-S here!)

There is a round projection there, inside the foglight housing, that is made to look like the LED running lights in the headlight housing. I believe it is an appearance element only...or perhaps a leftover from an idea to mount LEDs there as well. I do not believe that it is built to accomodate the 5-LED lights, since the foglight housing is sealed. You may or may not be able to modify the foglights to add the 5-LED lights, though. Let us know how it works out, and what is involved.

I just installed a set of fog lights in my RTa/c and looked at installing led's there too. As Scotty said, the light assembly is sealed, so it would probably be more trouble than it's worth to attempt the install.

I have been planning to install some strobe lights in this location for some time. I just got around to ordering them, so after Thanksgiving I will do the install. I will let you know how hard it is to access that area.

Look at the back side of the headlights. The area that the led mounts to is held in place with 4 screws. I think the back of the foglight assembly might be the same. I may take mine apart tomorrow and will know for sure.

yeah you break the seal and get water or moisture in there wonder if its worth it... wont be covered by warranty then...

then sealing around the new light.... I too wish they installed an LED light there as well. its just a chromed cap that is there now.

if you goto http://spyder.brp.com/en-US/See/Can-Am/Showroom/Showroom-RT.htm

and select an RTS then select 360 degree and specs tab

you can select FOG LIGHT to get a blow up of the area in question

Thanks everyone for all this great info, I will inform my customer and let him decide if he wants me to invent something or wait for others to do so. If the fog light assembly is permanently sealed, maybe I could remove it from the bike and go in from behind to add LED lighting. That sounds like what others here may try, too. It sure looks to me like the original intent was to have lighting there.

fog lights...

I just wish that I could get a reply from someone who knows if there is an allignment screw to adjust the foglights... and if so, where the devil it is.
Anybody out there have the answer? :helpsmilie:

Ny service manual says to use the fwd hole by the headlight adjuster, but there is nothing in there on mine. Might be on yours though

fog lights...

Lamont, your RT must have been the "prototype", and the one shown in the maintenance manual. ;)
There they do mention using the cable in the forward hole, and actually show a cable attached to the foglight assy. However, none of the newer RT's seem to use this method of adjustment. The set I received had no cables attached, and although the dealer told me that there was a screw for adjustment, I've been unable to spot it... at least with the snout on. :gaah:
