• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S handling

I have a 2012 RT-S with 2400 miles on it. I picked it up after getting home from Spyder-fest. How SHOULD this machine handle? First off, I could barely keep it in my own lane, would wander all over. Put shocks up to level 5, played with tire pressure ect., some what better then. Next thing was dealer had front tires re-balanced, no better. 2 weeks ago, I installed shock adjusters, lowered the shock preload to level 4, and now I can at least keep it going straight. BUT I still have TONS of belt vibration, and a lot of front tire shacking, like tires out of balance. I put 35000 miles on my 08 GS with NONE of these problems, so am very dissappointed so far with MOVING UP to the RT-S. HELP, what the heck do I do next?, buy back my 08? How should these RTs handle?

Check Tire Pressure, Check any obvious front suspension issues, Check alignment at Dealer. That should get you started.

Bad tires can cause vibration. Can your dealer swap wheels and tires with another RT to see if it is the tires causing the vibration.

I have a 2012 RT-S. The front shocks are set at 5 the rear at mid range. I keep 28 psi in the rear and 18 psi in the front. There is no wandering, just a bit of vibration at 55-60 mph.

Your bike should not be doing what it is doing,it's not normal. Check you tires for evenness of tread wear, look for cupping or worn spots on one side or the other. Make sure tire pressures are the same on both sides. Check for excessive play in the steering mechanism by seeing if the handlebars will move a lot without the wheels changing direction. See if is brad pad is dragging. Definitely bring it to the dealer. If he says its normal take it to a competent dealer.
