There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I'm having a new rear tire put on at my local dealer. What price should I reasonably expect to pay for the alignment?

If this Dealer doesn't use the Rolo / Outlaw system ( True Laser Track ) don't bother, because it will be the BRP system and that has been proven to be a FAILURE .......The BRP system is what you get direct from the factory when you buy the Spyder......It comes ALIGNED in the crate ...... This is not my opinion this is a FACT ...... Mike

Regarding the cost of the alignment: How much is it worth to you; to have a bike that goes where you point it, and stays on track? :dontknow:

"Peace of mind", can be worth an awful lot! nojoke

Rolo alignment at my dealer is $100. Any price beween $100-$150 depending whe you live is not out of line. I am going to have an alignment done every year since I do a lot of rough road travel.

Doing it right goes without saying. The dealer that I have to deal with seems to be high priced on everything.

Does a rear tire change require alignment? Can I wait until October at the Maggie Valley Rally?

The laser alignment aligns the front wheels to the rear wheel. If you do anything that changes how the rear wheel in lined up in the swing arm, it has changed your alignment. The last time I changed my rear tire, the alignment was off slightly. You can always check by getting on a level (and deserted) stretch of road get it up to where you can set the cruise control and then let your hands hover over the handlebars. If it still runs straight you are good, if it doesn't I would get it done sooner.

When I got mine aligned by Joe and Ann from Squared Away when they were in Phoenix, I believe I paid $125.00, but it included a Subway sandwich.

Agree...

between 100 and 150 depending on where you are and who your dealing with. But if you changed the rear tire i would get the alignment done cause it will keep you straight and help the wear on the front tires....

LEVEL ROAD ??????

Let's be realistic, there are NO level roads anywhere......Every road constructed is either crowned or banked and if the belt moves 1/8th inch you are going to have it re-aligned !!! ...... mine moves every time I ride it ...... sometimes 6 to 10 times per ride .... Does it matter :dontknow: .... it doesn't seem too .... my tires are wearing evenly , and I don't feel any ODD pulling or drifting in the steering.......... IMHO far to much is made of TRYING TO ACHIEVE PERFECTION ......same goes for tire pressure ....some folks get their pants in a wad if one front tire is 1/2 lb. different from the other , frankly it's almost impossible to get an accurate reading.........................Mike

Obviously you haven't ridden all the roads. There are areas that have little to no crown on the roads. And even on roads with a crown, you can check your bike (if no other vehicles around) by riding the same stretch of road on the wrong side. If if pulls to the right while going in the proper direction, then pulls to the left going the wrong direction, you are probably OK.

You seem to equate the need for alignment to the position of the belt on the sprockets. That is not what I referred to. Yes, the belt should be aligned and the tension set properly to do an alignment. But the laser alignment itself is based upon the rear wheel not the belt. If changes are made that affect how the rear wheel is aligned in the swingarm, it will impact upon the alignment of the front wheel to the rear wheel. Movement of the belt on the sprockets does not change the relationship of the front and rear wheels.
