Thanks, Steve. What model/part number do you have and are there more than one type for my RT?

:spyder2:

Hey George, I think the only difference is the material. I believe the physical design for the RT are all the same. I have the all stainless model, but the Carbon Fiber really does look sharp too. :2thumbs:

The part number is
Part Number: 005-2830419V

Hey Steve,

I really like the sound of the TBR on your video. Has the exhaust gotten noticably louder since you had it insalled? I hear they do so was wondering.

Nope, it hasn't gotten much louder at all. In fact, I dropped it off at cowtown for my 9000 mile service and left it for a week. When I picked it up, I could have sworn that it was quieter! They didn't pack it or anything, it was just that I was without the ride for a week and it "seemed" quieter to me if that makes sense.

But all in all, I am very happy with the sound and the look is much better in my opinion. And most importantly my wife likes it!

See now you've got it. I am POSITIVE I would love it but then there is the wife who looks at me evertime she sees a loud Harley and says 'I hope you never do THAT to the Spyder':banghead:

Took the RT down to Cowtown and had the stage 2 Performance kit installed, have posted pictures of the work done and WOW what a difference. We took it for a ride right after the work was done and it is an instant notice of handling and performance.
I didn’t know for sure if the expense would be worth it and finally decided to go for it and was I surprised, it is an expensive upgrade but with it, the RT is a totally different experience. I will let everyone know if the mileage changes but the way if feels is unbelievable.

here are some pictures of the work being done

Hi cgroh360,

Nice pictures. I especially like how nice the Seal FloorBoards look as apart of your total package. I'm having the performance package put on my RT at SpyderFest. Talked to Len yesterday and can't wait. Looks like you now have everything to...........

Ride in comfort:2thumbs:,

Ram Air Intake

For those who have the ram air intake, you must check your air filter more often.
The ram air is doing exactly what is says ramming air into the intake. But it is also ramming dirt and bugs into your K&N or Green air filter.

With the stock air filter and system I had never had any debris on the filter to speak of.
The photo below is after 3000 miles when checked at the oil change interval.
It is also about the same as the last oil change, I started cleaning it without thinking to take a pic last time.

IMAG0451.jpg

Decision time now, it is clogged enough that I dont want to run the new interval of 4600 miles before cleaning.
Alternative 1 is to remove tupperware and clean it at 2300 milles or so. :banghead:
Alternative 2 is to add some kind of a screen to the front end of the Ram Air intake to prevent the bug portion of this debris from getting to the filter.

Len what do ya think? :chat:

I have the ram intake and had the filter cleaned at 3k with an oil change. I have the green air filter and it looked nothing like yours. I would guess it would depend on riding conditions, areas, etc as to what may get collected on the filter.

I agree checking it should be a high on the list. I'm probably going to stretch my oil change out this time to 4500 and see what it looks like then. :dontknow:

Each rider experience different Elements, so it's on a case by case, typical we do see a little more in dirt, let's me know it's really working:clap: this is also why we use the hi flow filters that are both cleanable and reusable. I recommend cleaning your filter at least every 3rd oilchange ......for Average rider means once to twice a year. We did start out using green filters but switched to k&n simple because the filter recharge kits were easier and more common to find.....most all auto parts and power sport stores stock them:doorag:

Agreed that your local has an impact on this as well, point being, check the filter and dont assume its fine like the stock one was without the Ram Air.
Especially if your dealer does your oil change, make sure they check your filter! We have all heard how some dealers arent as service oriented as the folks in Cuba.

No way would I go back to the stock air supply set up!

Sometimes I forget that Kansas has one of the biggest bug populaions of any spot in the world!!
