• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Passenger grab rail extensions?

armrest

Bob, I'd consider the Diamond R Accessories armrests. I've had them for almost 3 years and every passenger has said they are great! I like that they fold in when not in use and no drilling required. The bracket mounts under the seat.

Take a look at their website, diamondraccessories.com. Owners Allen and Patti are great to deal with, top not customer service!

Do the armrest from diamondraccessories.com bend down if the passenger put pressure on them? Do they rotate out of the way for the passenger to get on and off of the bike? thanks..

They do rotate out of the way so as to make it easier to get on and off the bike...
But they WILL bend downward, if you put too much weight on them.
They're designed to hold a pair of arms; not an entire body!

I got the Corbin armrests on last weekend and the wife likes them. Initially she was concerned that now she really can't reach the grab handles!
But she likes that the armrests wrap around her and hold her in.

I used big washers under the heads of the screws that hold the armrests to the speaker boxes. It is just plastic and I could see the heads of these small screws ripping through the plastic! The washers should help.

So we are going to go for a ride soon and we shall see how she likes them. I told her I will add grab rail extensions if I need to. So we shall see :)

I feel your frustration.

I had the same situation with my wife comfortably placing her feet on the floorboards (at the up-most height). My solution was to find a creative fabricator to work with to design my Spyder Slyders (SyderSpecialties. com). Unfortunately, my fabricator was up and coming in his career area and is now employed by Lockheed Martin. Good Luck) :banghead:

it just seems like the women would naturally want to put alot of weight on them.

The metal bracket that they attach to, is pretty long, and the attachment points for the arms are far enough outboard, that there's a lot of leverage involved...
I don't know what it would take, to make it any stronger than it is right now... Hardened Spring Steel? :dontknow:
It's not as if they fold up like a bad hand of cards... :D

I'm gonna go ahead and order them and I am going to charge her 5 bucks every time I have to bend them back up. I should have all the money back pretty quick that I spent on them and enough left over to buy more bling,,,,lol
