• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT muffler

The black is actually going to be ceramic coated not powder coated. I've got the first one that they have had made coming to me this week. I'll be at Spyderfest if you'd like to hear it stop by vendor village. I liked the idea but didn't want the chrome looking one for my RTS.

Thanks for the response/Info....

DC1, I apologize, I meant to include that, but figured that since I had posted it previously, it might seem redundant. When I first go my RT (the end of October, 15) I was get- ting say, 32 to 34 mpg. but was also trying to learn the power characteristics of the Spyder. Somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 miles my mileage was around 34-36 mpg. Like you, I thought the Spyder was too quiet, and at idle sounded like a sewing machine, and installed a cat delete pipe, mainly to get rid of the heat it produced, but also for a little more sound. This worked pretty well, sounded good to me going down the road, but at idle it still had the sewing machine sound. It did seem to provide a little more power, and my gas mileage at times was around 38 mpg Around 4,000 miles I learned about the exhaust I recently mentioned, I now have over 6,000 miles on the Spyder and have seen very close to 42 miles per gallon 3 times, and like burning non-ethanol gas. The system is noisy, but not really loud, compared to some sport bikes and cruisers. I tend to ride aggressively at times, and when really getting on the gas, over 5,000 rpm It is loud, but then, that too depends on what helmet I have on my head.

Hope that helps you out somewhat, I am pleased with the system, I think I got my moneys worth. I forgot to answer one of your questions. We, my wife and I, have no problems listening to the radio, but then we do have Sena headsets. I think I can be safe to say, listening to the radio, thru the speakers, is not much different than with the stock system once you get to highway speeds.

Thanks for the response and Info....That is a strong increase in miles per gal and to me makes the swap even more desirable. We bought the basic RT SM6 and the only thing I added in the first year was highway pegs and a GPS (TOM TOM that was drastically price reduced) along with a hitch and wiring for towing our little HF for camping runs....I doubt we will ever get headsets as hollering over each other's shoulders has worked fine for 20+ years hence the part about radio volume...I turn that radio up to max on the road and we both sing along and move around a little...seems to be her favorite thing about the Spyder and from what you say it shouldn' t change due to that muffler at highway speeds...It, along with a Baja Ron sway bar is the next 2 mods I believe...Thanks again!!
