• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Illumination

Hey guys. I'm having an issue with my headlights I think. The light from the headlights on my RT extend about 20 feet out then end in a sudden hard line. Nothing beyond that point is illuminated, making the headlights basically useless for actually illuminating the road in any useable way. I have to turn on the brights to get any decent visibility, which isn't good for other drivers on the road. This normal? suggestions?

Well you need either a very heavy passenger or an adjustment to your headlights. Just for your information the high beams are actually the safe way to drive during the day with the regulars at night. In either case I always keep my fog lights on. Just trying to stay alive not make friends on the road.

I had the same issue, adjustments were made. I didn't realize that the light was a single element bulb. I to questioned the "Black-line". DIY'ers can make this adjustment, just be cautious when you turn the adjuster, alittle goes a longways.

To explain...the North American Spyder headlights are controlled by a shutter, that covers part of the lens (inside) on low beams. That creates the hard line you see. You can shine the lights farther down the road by adjusting them upward. Changes to the suspension setting, aftermarket suspension, heavier or lighter riders/passengers than average, or just carrying a passenger frequently can cause need for adjustment. Each Spyder should be adjusted for your riding style, your Spyder settings, and your needs.

My Prius is exactly the same. Stupid me, I've wondered how they make that line. An old guy learned something useful today, thanks for filling that square.

Tuck:yes:

dealer showed me how to fix it. little brass knob on left and right sides of bike behind the lower side panel (like where the oil is.
