• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT handle bar console

I have been looking at risers, and frankly I really don't like the look of any of them. I've looked at the Heli bar risers, the NMN ones, and the Kewl Metal ones, but I don't like any of them. Does anyone know if the RT handle bar console would fit on the RS? I'm debating trying to buy the handle bar console just to find out.

And don't forget to factor in changing all the cables and wires as I cannot see any way they will reach to the RT bars. I expect you would have to have them custom made. They are at their limit with the 4" NMN risers.

There is a lot involved here. I would not say it was impossible, but it would involve a lot of work. First, the console/bar assembly bolts directly to the steering, instead of having a clamp-on handlebar and separate cover like the RS. The bolt pattern is definitely different, so an adapter of some sort would be needed. This would probably render your steering lock useless, as does the Spyder City riser.

Second problem is the controls. RT-S has a fly-by wire throttle. You would need to adapt your cable throttle and probably have longer cables fabricated. Next difficulty is the wiring. According to my Spyder tech, there are only two control wires for each side, instead of a wiring bundle. This means that control is via the CanBus instead of conventional wire bundles. You would need to use your control assemblies. Again, the length of the cables could be an issue. Also, for an SM5, a longer hydraulic hose may have to be fabricated.

Finally, the console and seat are different for the RT-S, placing things in different positions. The combination that is comfortable on the RT-S may not be as neat on the RS. Some careful measurements would be needed, or better yet, laying the parts there to try out. Would it look neat...probably. Could it work...possibly. Lots of work...absolutely. If you get up the money and nerve to try it, let us see the results.
