Can anyone out there tell me where to find the engine number on the 2012 RTL?

Engine number

It's buried on the left side at the bend from the front exhaust pipe and above the drive belt.

Yup..!!

you pretty much always have to remove tupper wear when working or checking the engine...but there you have it...jot it down keep it safe cause you don't want to have to do it all again...:roflblack:
