• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Cruise Control

Well, here's a new one. When I turn my cruise control switch on, it displays "Cruise On" on the main screen, when I push down to set a cruise speed, the screen flashes "Set" then immediately to "Cruise Off". Cruise cannot be set. After flashing "Set" then to "Off" it stays off until I physically move the switch to off and back to on...then the malfunction starts all over again....Any ideas?? Len

You push down to SET, up to resume, (like if you hit the brake and then wanted to continue at your old speed setting)

I've not had mine malfunction before, so I haven't seen that message at all. I'll keep an eye out for it on my trip today and see if anything happens. Hope you find out whats wrong with yours. Sounds like could be a loose wire on the harness, couldn't hurt to check.

Good Luck & Good Ryde'n :spyder:

That's weird....mine works perfectly....You probably need to get the dealer to check it out.

Cruise

On my SE-5 you have to be going 45mph in 5th gear for it to set or 40mph in 4th gear.... If you set it at 45mph in 5th and start to ascend an incline it will kick off when the Spyder slows down. Mine acted just like your's before I realized how it was working.

Thanks for imput...

My wife's RT cruise works just fine. It's mine, "go figure" that doesn't work, since getting it back from a 48 day shop trip. Guess who's going BACK to the shop. Oh boy, I'm getting very familiar with the guys and gals at my dealer. I like'm a lot but this wasn't my original "Spyder Experience" plan.. Len

If the problem was switching from "SET" to "ON", I would suspect a bad or out of adjustment brake or clutch switch, but yours switches completely "OFF". Most likely culprit is a bad right multifunction switch (right control pod). A wiring problem, like a loose connector, could cause a similar situation, but the fly-by-wire throttle still works OK, so the CanBus connection to the ECM is still intact. Sorry about another trip to the dealer. If he is cooperative, he will order the module, and let you ride without cruise until the part comes in.

Len, you need a new right handlebar switch. I just replaced one the other day. The customer's was doing the same thing. Replaced it, and everything was all good again.

Right cruise control switch

I carefully checked the brake micro switch and the clutch micro switch. The were fine. I agree Brad.. it has to be the handlebar switch.. Thanks ... Len
