• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Brake Pedal Seems to Take too much pressure

Maybe its just me, but the brakes don't seem as positive as I'd like.
Does anyone else feel this way?

More than my 08 GS did < But extra weight of Rt might be the contributing factor.....

I wouldn't say it takes too much, but it takes a good solid push...more pressure than the RS and different geometry. If yours is too bad, your brakes might be glazed. Your dealer can deglaze (sand) the pads...or you can just ride hard in the mountains for a few days.

I had a brake upgrade on my Harley and it stopped sooooo nicely (compared to how bad it was stock). Having three wide tires and three disc brakes on the Sypder, I feel it could stop a little better than it does. However, having said that, I have felt the anti-lock brakes kick in a few times. So, it has enough friction capacity to lock the wheels (and would if not for the ABS).

feel the disks feel the heat

Hi from Australia, I think you will find the brakes have a bias to the rear unless you realy apply them hard, then the front ones bite, this gives you the feel you are talking about, after a run check the brakes by touching the disks and you may find the front hardly warm to hot, depending on the ride, but may burn yourself on the rear so watch out, all the Spyders I have checked out are like this. some times on a gentle ride the front disks have done no work and are cold, but I have never found the rear one to be like that. all the best Don

I have an 09 RS and took a test ride on an RT-S. The brakes were so firm that I thought they were engaged but I just kept on going. I guess they are just different due to the weight etc. I'll have to do another test ride now since it seems that this the way that they are set up.

Just about 6000, hit 5000 on my way to the Spyders of Adirondacks.

Will have to take a picture of the speedo/odo meter and request the 5000 miles pin :D

Only 3000 on mine. Been that way since day one, but I thought that after the pads wore in they would become more positive. I don't ride the brakes or do long slow stops that might cause glazing. Also, I did a ride in the mountains at about 600 mi on the clock and they got a good workout then.

I'll check the front pads after a ride to see how hot they get and when I get a chance will ride down to dealer and have him check em out.

I had ABS on a previouse Burgman 650 and they were great.
