• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I heard of this and was wondering about exactly what it does & can it be installed fairly easy & is it worth the cost & time to do it? Anybody here using this item?

Get it from Spyderpops, it works, easy to install and looks good.

What is a block off Plate on a RT? And where is the block off Plate located on a RT?

I have a 2014RTS-SE6 and was wondering.

I don't think you need it on the 2014s or newer. The pre-'14s with the smaller engine really put out some heat on the right side - not just the 2013 models. It's a plate made to fit the lower oblong home just below your right toe.

The block off plate diverts the air from the radiator and prevents the dreaded right side hot foot.
For the 1330 engine (your 2014 RT), BRP relocated the radiator and installed their own block off plate.
Frankly, in my opinion, the did a crappy job. The lower cowling should have been redesigned as a solid piece so it looks like the left side.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong, and I'm sure someone on this forum will point it out if I am.

Thanks for giving me an answer. Deanna

Do the spyders that have the 988 engine have the block off plates? Deanna

The 1330 RT engines have two radiators, one on each side. I guess the extra radiator and plumbing cost more than a solid lower cowl piece, therefore the block off panel on the right.

There has been a few posts, regarding this subject, with very great pics and details.
My self I used the 2014 grill and block off plate and have no issues regarding hot foot riding on floor boards or highway pegs. PM me if you need details.

I put a 2014 grille on the right side, it incorporates a lower block off plate and matches the stock 2013 left grille perfectly. If I can find a pic, I will post it. Some slight modifications are needed to make it fit, but really an easy install. I think it cost $17.00 from BRP. I had the Spyderpops block off plate for a long time, and it worked well, but it just didn't look right. The 2014 grille di the trick for me.

Couldn't find,a pic, sorry.

Will that fit a 2012 as well?

Do I need a block off plate for my 2014RTS-SE6? Deanna

Is your right foot to hot to be comfortable? If not then probably not. Many said that the 2012 didn't really have a heat problem either but my right foot even in boots was cooking,so I put the block off plate in and no more problem. You decide, how uncomfortable is your foot?
