There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. RT 14K mile Service here in Colorado?

Just wanting to know if anyone has recently had the 14 thousand mile service done? I'm being told it about a 10 hours job with the most time being given to the valve adjustment. Drop off one day and pick up two day later with an estimate of $1600 is what I'm being quoted. Any thoughts or opinions before I commit?

Per most reports you can go 30k + without checking valves. Unless its clanking or something save the money for gas

What year? Model?

It's the 2012 RT LTD. Got 13,300 miles to date. Wanting to get this completed before heading to Spyderfest. There is two service shops for Spyders in and around the Denver area and an additional shop in Colorado Springs 80 plus miles south.

Half the cost of RPM in Lakewood and you dont have to deal with the A-holes there

If your RT is a pre-2014 model, the manual calls for a valve adjustment at 14,000 miles.

Consider me one of the sites beta testers. I had a valve check performed at 14 K on my 2008 RS. No adjustment needed. $600 + down the tubes.

I let my 2010 RT go all the way to 28,000 miles before a valve check. No adjustment needed. $600 + down the tubes.

My 2011 is going to wait until at least 50,000 miles unless problems arise.

My recommendation--don't give the dealers unnecessary money. It is also out there that most machines don't need the adjustment. An unscroupulous dealer can charge you for the work and never even put a wrench to the :spyder2:.

It's your money and it's your :ani29:

The 1330 triples do not require any valve adjustments.

Here's what I would do...

Definetly check out all the dealers around. There are many things on that service you can do yourself..do them. If you decide to have the valves done, I'm at over 33,000 and all is well, make sure they don't charge for adjustment if non is done. There is a lot more involved in adjusting than simpling checking. Many have over paid for this. Prices vary from place to place but that does seem an awful lot...jmo..
