I have several questions with reference to the Radio/Audio System on the RT–S
Does the Radio only work when the Ignition is on
It would be nice to listern to the Radio when cleaning the Spyder without having the Ign on
If it needs to have the Ign on is there any long term damage and should the Engine kill switch be in the off position
Is there an On/Off switch or is the Radio/Aux etc always on unless the Ignition is off
Can the RT-S existing Radio system be connected into an intercom system – e.g. Using an Autocom Speaker lead which can be connected to the Speaker inputs either Font or Rear (If fitted) The Autocom Lead has a switch (3 way toggle switch) this allows :-
Speakers On – Off – Intercom On - this connects to a 3.5mm Jack Plug with can connect into various headsets
See http://www.autocom.co.uk/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=100
and http://www.autocom.co.uk/PDF/CarTypeMusic.pdf
How easy is to get to the Speakers wiring on the RT-S Either at the Speaker end on where the Cam AM Spyder AM/FM Rado system main unit is installed
Another option I am considering is to Attach a Bluetooth Stereo Audio Adapter Transmitter for iPod/MP3, Cd player etc to the 3.5mm output from the Autocom lead I would connect them together using a connector between the 2 Jack Plugs – The radio output could then be sent to a Bluetooth enabled headset – no wired connection needed
Has anyone tried this yet
Only pick up my Spyder RT-S early December but trying to sort out the best way to hear the Radio System when on the Highways – Perfer in helmet audio for the higher speeds, On boad speakers ok for in town use
As always any information useful
Thanks
