• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RS Setup For Touring?

Agree! I spoke with Jim a few days ago and I was nothing but glad I called to order. He asked me questions to make sure i was ordering what i really needed and did not seem bothered with my order like the past few vendors i spent money with. He called me back to confirm a detail about the order. The evo iii slider will be one of the final adds to make my GS a touring ride.

I've talked recently with Jim that makes Evo... the site has the shields at 139 I think but he's dropped his prices to 99 bucks!

Jim's fighting the bad rap that Marcel gave the biz. Marcel is completely out of the picture but you know how it is with bad word of mouth. Sometimes it's harder to fix.

Give Jim a call about your shield. He's awesome about getting your measurements and making recomendations.

How much does he want for the EVO III slider? I paid over $300 for my standard EVO III back in the day.

I am thinking of getting one for the hubby. He has the standard EVO III which is about 27", however he is 6'3" with a tall torso and is getting nailed in the helmet by the wind.

Anyone got a link to the F1 windshields website? Thanks! :2thumbs:

I sure hope that is not their website now. The link you posted is to Marcel's old website. The first thing that greets you is a disclaimer that forces you to accept their terms and conditions before you enter the site. The content is all of Marcel's old stuff with his propaganda.

:dontknow:It's the only one that I have seen, anybody have a new one???

I didn't see anything new on the website but spoke with Jim. I paid a bit over $200 for the lower Evo 3 slider with 2" extensions and shipping.

Comfort

My experience is the same as most people here. In my opinion, the biggest change was the 4" ESI riser (no more shoulder cramps). Next was the BRP comfort seat (I like it). I have the BRP 23" windshield: it helps. I've recently ordered highway foot pegs (many claim it helps).

The good thing is if you're on a budget, you can do these modifications over time.

Good luck!

Modifications needed will be different for each person because of their size, build, and tastes in style. I am 5'3".
I went from the stock seat to the corbin seat and was still not able to ride for very long without pain. I had a russell seat with back rest made and can now ride until time to get fuel and will have no pain. I have the Kewl Metal Center Console and 9" handlebars, Grip Puppies, and Vista Cruise throttle locker, Kewl Metal Highway brackets & mini boards for stretching my legs on long rides, and a Cal-Sci Windshield.

As far as a passenger back rest goes, we have the BRP sport rack and backrest on my husband's spyder and it is ok. My spyder has the Corbin trunk box which has a backrest/pad for the passenger. When riding as a passenger, I prefer the Corbin trunkbox/backrest.

Wishing you find the perfect mods for you and your riding companion. It can make a world of difference in your enjoyment of the Spyder.

I received the shield today! Great service and it looks perfect. I'll get a full review under "my mods" when I get a few rides in this weekend.
