• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Interesting find, Doc! Thanks for sharing.

So, with a bigger throttle body on the RS, the RS-S having a slightly smaller throttle body, what effect does this have, power/performance and fuel mileage wise on the RS (with the bigger throttle body)?:dontknow:

Cheers,

I still want real proof. BRP has screwed up such numbers before. This one is too easy to transpose or misread. A seven and one are easily mistale for one another at a glance. Then they do the metric conversion, and voila...a number that is wrong, but is taken as the gospel. Remember the supposed six foot wide spec for the RT? I will believe the difference when I see the side-by-side photos or the comparisons from actual measurements from a trusted source.

:agree: I'm in the typo camp here too. However if proven to be true the only reason I see to reduce T-Body size would be a little bit better throttle response. So we wait:popcorn::dontknow::popcorn::dontknow::popcorn:

This has been brought up now a few times... Spoke to my dealer on it yesterday... Nothing officially confirmed yet. No one has had the need to disassemble an RSS and I am not volunteering ours :roflblack::ohyea:

I'm kind of thinking typo as well. HP and torque numbers are the same, so unless they remapped the ECU it would almost HAVE to be a typo...

no fuel change....

Cool! Now what about this Octane change from 87 to 91 on the 2011's?

just bought a 2011 Spyder RS-S (my first :spyder2: ) and it's book (an RS book, so not sure if there really is a diff book for the RS-S or if i was just given the wrong book) states to use 87 octane fuel at a minimum.
in cars i know going higher octane than recommended can cause knocking, is this true for cycles too? if you choose to go higher octane does it get ANY performance boost?

Don't waste your money...you won't see a difference to justify the extra octane.

That's likely a typo as well...they should run a contest to see who can catch the most typos...get a free service or bike or something!
