• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

please dont wear that ugley full face helment it might lookmso bad no one will buy a spyder.throw all helments away and ride free.but a large wind sheld would look good.:2thumbs::yikes::spyder::lecturef_smilie::shemademe_smilie::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I have to say I love the short look, but I'm still torn on how much I want a taller one. Bugs, wind noise...

I want my cake and I want to eat it too!

Take the stock shield and put it on a madstad ;) No idea what that'll do to the looks OR the wind ;)

If madstad had been on the market before I got my CHAD, this is what I would probably have done. The stock shield is a nice shape. I just needed to be able to tilt it more upright to block wind from my passenger. And the madstad would allow the wind to flow up the backside of the shield which is a huge plus in wind noise and how the wind travels.

The stock shield and the madstad is a perfectly viable option in my book!!!

I was looking into getting a Madstad before this thread was started. I don't care much if someone else doesn't like how it would looks. I just have to get something taller to get the wind off my helmet. I'm 6'1" and the BRP Ultra windscreen. The wind hits me right under my helmet and tries to pull it (and my head) off. It is not uncommon for me to take 250+ mile rides just for fun. I need a taller windscreen no matter what others think. I will one day get an RT but until then I'm going with a taller windscreen.

I like the look of my RS with stock windshield, I did attach the 25 inch touring windshield more for the comfort and place for bugs to RIP in stead of my visor. I took it off after one ride as it just created turbulence around my helmet and I could hardly keep my head still, and I believe it made the riding experience less enjoyable. Probably look at getting the 14 inch shield instead.

The Madstad has been my overall favorite windshield of all and I've tried a bunch of them. BRP stock, BRP touring, F1, F1 EVO II tall, F1 EVO III, F1 EVO III slider regular, F1 EVO III slider tall, Calsci medium, Madstad. I think thats it.

Honestly, I was not trying to cause trouble posting this. I knew before posting this some would blast me for it. And I am ok with that. I only offered a survey because far to often on this forum people will only comment on a matter, only if they tend to agree with the majority for fear of comments just like what you wrote. But I have broad shoulders and can take it without getting upset with you. Judging from the results thus far, I'm in the minority with my opinion and thats ok. Maybe that has to do with the demographics of the current Spyder owners, I don't know for sure. :dontknow:

I hope you were joking with your comment. My opinion matters as well as anyones does. Opinions are the foundation of this, and any forum. If you could not give your opinion on a topic, Spyderlovers would not be a forum. It would be a article. :D

So my guess is, you must have a high windshield ?? :roflblack::roflblack::joke:

:chat:

You don't know me too well yet...I was being sarcastic...I have the sport shield right now, which is quite low...however, I will be getting the Madstad sooner or later...

If by 14 inch shield you mean BRP's regular touring windshield, it is no different than riding with the stock windshield for bug / wind protection.

So your one of the people you voted, I agree, but Arntufun is still a jerk !!! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: Now to find the other !!!

The only windshield that i thought was perfect [40+ years of riding] wasn't even on a Spyder, It was on my VTX 1800, a large Memphis Shade.
I Could be going 75 mph and still smoke a cigar.:D
So far i have 3 shields for my Spyder and there all a compromise.

I thought the sport tour would protect me a little but really all it did was route the wind right at my helmet! So off it came.

That was my experience as well, so I ended up putting the Givi on instead.

However, I may have been shamed enough by arntufun to clean up one of my stock windshields and put it back on before heading to the Maggie Valley Owners Event. :opps:
