• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RS headlamp replacement

I am trying to change a burnt out headlamp on my 2008 SM5. The service manual says to turn the connector counterclockwise to remove it from the housing. How do you do this? Is there a special trick to this?

Thanks

I replaced both headlight bulbs on my RS. I Have big hand and had to remove the top half off the clam which was not too hard. It made changing the bulbs alot easier.

Hey there. Yep, you have to get behind the cluster really good - take the cluster off to have some extra room, as you will need it. I also recommend wearing a pair of thin gloves. These will help you grip the bulb housing better to get that counterclockwise turn and protect your hand from rubbing on the edge of the console.

From my experience the headlights typically go about the same time. If you are replacing one, best replace the other while you're there. Also note that you'll have to reset the time on the cluster once you reconnect.

You'll get it!
Hope that helps.
Cheers from Newfoundland!
