• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RPM difference between the digital and analog gauges

anyone else have this issue?

My digital RPM indicator shows 800/900 and the analog shows 350 rpm higher. This is without regard to speed, gear, etc.

Could my speedometer also be off? If it shows 65 mph, am I really doing 65?

I have a truck that is always 10% faster than the speedometer due to non-OEM tire size different from the OEM tires.

Most Spyders report that your are going faster than you are.
Mine is off by 3 MPH at 70. Some report worse some better. Rear tire wear can effect this amount.

As for the tach, I never really compared them at low RPM but they do match at higher RPMs.

 How can you guys process that much visual input? :dontknow:
I only watch the digital Speedometer (It's large enough to easily see!), and the fuel gauge...

I am with you Bob. For speed I look at the digital. For RPM I look at the analog but not so often to I care about RPM.
When I was new to the Spyder and learning the shift points, I would tend to look at RPM to try and shift at 5500 or so.
Now I go by ear as to when to shift.

FYI I used one of my videos to grab a frame from my dashboard.

As you can see my analog speedo and digital speedo, AND my analog tach and digital tach match 100%.
Both show 34 MPH and both show 4400 RPM.

I usually watch the digital speedo and the analog tachometer. I go for the bigger view on each.

These days, good luck seeing time, temp, tripmeter etc. unless I tilt my head forward and squint. The sun visor and face shield don't help much either. :roflblack:

My speed, actual vs. indicated, seems to be 2 mph lower than indicated--pretty much across the board. Verified by those "this is your speed" warning signs that pop up in construction zones.

RPM's are the same on both gauges here on both the 2011 and 2014.

As far as the speedo, my analog matches the digital up to 50 mph. Then the digital suddenly becomes 3 mph fast after that. I compared the analog (which is always accurate) with my phone GPS and Garmin. Even checked it with a old TOM TOM and Magellan GPS units I have. This is on a 2015 RT. I just keep it in memory to remember the 3 mph difference when on the highway. As for the Tach, mine are matched with no error. That is interesting with what you have going on there.
