• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So Roxy is in the shop again as of monday. This is the second time for both issues:

#1 I get an "E" in the shift position and lights flashing like crazy (cleared last time and it's back again)

#2 oil leaking and burning on the pipes creating all kinds of smoke. Last time it was the head gasket)

For being less than 3 months old and <1600 miles this is pathetic. I'm thinking Lemon Law is about to come into effect!!!!

I love my :spyder2: and it's such a fun ride but being in the shop this much is not right. I have had 9 bikes, 2 boats, 3 PWC and none have seen the dealer this much in the course of a year let alone 3 months.

Everyday now I see these kinds of threads. Don't worry, someone will chime in shortly saying the Spyder so great and only a selected few have a problem. They will also tell you the Spyder is a new product and will have growing pains. And alot of other BS.

Sorry, you are yet another victum of this machine.

Yeah... It sat at the Ed Hardy store for a little over a year and no one wanted a SM5 so i got a smoking deal on it but now it's being a headache.

I still want it but if i spend that much money i want something that works.

Don't get me wrong. I love ryding this machine, but I thank God everytime I pull back in my garage after ryding and did not break down. I should not feel this way but I do.

Yeah i have check that one out before. I have actually already lemon law'd 2 BMW 750 LI's in one year because of their problems with the iDrive. Motorcycles are covered in California so if this keeps up i know exactly how to handle them.

I sure hope i don't have to go down that road though. It's not the dealer not wanting to work with me, it's not BRP holding parts, it's just BRP's product is not 100% and should have had more R&D before production.

Or catch fire... That's what I'm thinking when i see smoke from burning oil on the exhaust pipes.

Actually BRP started their R & D in 1997 when one of their takes went to the higher ups and presented the Y concept. (This information was learned at Maggie Valley at the owner's event)

Thats even worse for BRP !!! That long in R+D and the product is still not dependable ??? :lecturef_smilie:

Deciding what to drive is always hard for me.... Porsche Cayenne or Can-am Spyder!?!?!?!?!?

Not sure if it's unfortunate but it looks like you'll be driving the Porsche. Really sorry to hear about your problems with the Spyder. I feel your pain. Mine has been in the shop about 1/4 of its life now. Hopefully it will be a quick fix.

:dontknow:
Why should BRP pay for R&D when Spyderlovers members will do it for them, And in a lot of cases even pay them for that R&D :D

Not that i don't like my Porsche but it's beautiful outside and i would rather be riding my :spyder2: than an SUV. I just hope they do fix it and permanently
