Rotate front tires?

It's a good idea if you could do it. The OEM Kendas are directional tires. The only way to rotate the tires is to remove them from the rims and re-install them on the opposite side.
I dare say most don't go to that trouble.
If you go to the dark side, it depends on which tire you've installed.

New to CanAm...do I need to rotate the front tires?

I won't do the " cute " answer thing ..... From my own experience and reading from dozens of others like " SpyderAnn " who an alignment specialist ... .... If the tires you have MUST be removed from the wheel and flipped over and re-mounted AND re-balanced ... it's not even close to being cost effective, even if you own a Hydraulic tire remover ...... If you can swap left to right on same wheel, you MIGHT get another 2000 mi., but you would need to do the swap every 2000 miles for it to be effective .... In the past 11 yrs I have never done this to any Spyder ( 3 ) that I have owned ..... good luck .... Mike

I'm with Mike. The short of it is, it's not worth it. If you're alignment is good. They will go a very long time. If it's bad. Rotating them won't buy you much. Put your money into a good ROLO Laser Alignment. That will get you a lot more for a lot less than rotating the front tires.

The purpose of tire rotation is to even out (try to even out) wear.
On 4 wheel vehicles, front to rear, rear to front, is the most important rotation.
For example, if fronts are wearing on the edges due to cornering and rear are wearing center from spinning.
If fronts are wearing inside edge or outside edge, then toe-in likely needs correcting.
If both edges are wearing, tire pressure may be low.
On a 4 wheel vehicle with a standard differential, the right rear may wear sooner from hard acceleration, so a right to left rotation is helpful.
Center wear on drive tires may also be over-inflation.

The moral of this story is that (a) tire pressure and (b) proper alignment are critical for tire life...and handling.

If front tires are worn from an alignment issue, correct the alignment.
If wear is bad, then align and replace the tires.

Just my 2 cents.

I do agree with Mike that it isn't worth the time. But my 2018 owners manual says you are supposed to rotate them by taking themon and off

And here's why the owners Manual says that ..... BRP .... KNOWS ... the Kenda tires are just plain Crappy .... and will say anything to give you a bit more life, they also know they send out Spyders that are not properly aligned 75% of the time. ..... and further examination of ther " Owners Manual " will reveal that according to BRP , any issue with your Spyder should be checked by Your Dealer ASAP , by having it towed there !!! .... Do you see sort of a pattern here ????? ................ good luck .... Mike

Although to be fair, it isn't just BRP that wants you to take EVERYTHING to the dealer. It's pretty common advice across all the vehicle manuals I've ever owned.

I read them but take much of what they say with a grain of salt, particularly the self-promotion stuff.

did a brake check and flush the other day. had the wheels off.
got about 17000 miles on the famozas. swapped them side to side because
i could. these things are wearing like iron ! not a lot of appreciable wear.

Tire Rotating idea

If you had the easy way to dismount the tires from the rims or take them to a local tire shop and get the remounted and balanced then it may not not be a bad idea to rotate them every 5000 or so miles depending on your driving. I see many people asking that question after the tire is already showing the metal thread inside but at that time it is too late and the tires are wasted. The alignment is obiously out of wack and the rotation idea is too little too late. Get new tires and do a proper aligment! ;)

Wow, tires and oil in the same day.

Let's post friendly. Many deep feelings on both subjects.

On the rotation subject, my .02 is I will not waste my time on tire rotation.

I have almost 30,000 miles on my Hankook Ventus tires on the front of my Spyder. They still look almost new and have never been rotated. I should be able to get another 10,000 miles or so out of them. Of course I had my front end laser aligned many years ago.
