• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Room(s) for Spyderfest?

I really didn't see any threads about rooms that are being made available this late in the game due to cancellations and thought I would start one. I just made the call to free up the room I had reserved since last fall for Spyderfest. Unfortunately. life events are preventing me from attending this year so I had to cancel. I'm sure going to miss the gathering. nojoke

WHERE: Super 8 Hotel 573-885-2087
WHEN: 3 nights April 28-30
WHAT: 1 king sized bed - smoking / now available

Sorry to hear you can't make it.

I'm glad you posted this but sorry that you cannot attend. I still may go but won't know until the last minute. I'll keep my eyes on this thread.

Sorry you can't make it.

Still seems really strange (to me) to see hotels that still have 'smoking' rooms.......

:agree:.........lol well atleast there just smoking and not a blaze:gaah::roflblack:lol....sorry

Thought I'd bump this thread back to the top for those still needing a room. I saw another thread saying Wagon Wheel still has one room with two beds. I am calling Super 8 to cancel my ground floor non-smoking room with parking directly outside door and outside access since my doctor tells me today my broken leg issue has some complications we have to take care now so I physically won't be able to get around for all the fun. You all have fun there.

Jane, I am so sad to hear that. You will certainly be missed that is for sure. But I have it on good authority, we will not be playing poker this year...LOL. Heal well, and take care of that leg. I do expect to see you sometime this year back on your Spyder.

Thanks, Deb. I'm definitely going to be back on the Spyder - actually sooner than I can drive a car, I believe. I've spoken with my surgeon and explained how the Spyder brake works. I can't drive a car for the months that I have to wear this boot/cast because it's really thick and rigid. But I believe with a little judicious practice in our driveways and on our country road, that I will be able to master using a heel motion on the brake effectively. Then it's just a matter of getting my walker strapped on the back of the bike so that I can get it loose by myself when I get off (assuming I'm riding by myself - like to Walmart or shopping!). The newest problem is an unexpectedly rigid ankle/archilles tendon that I'm told if we can break it loose and get it more flexible (I've been working with physical therapist all along) in the next couple of weeks that I'm doomed to future surgery, which in the surgeon's words is "a major setback" and a big surprise to him that I'm experiencing this problem at this stage. Oh well - I heard all that and was a bit bummed about the medical issues; but yesterday all I heard was his assent to let me try to get on the Spyder. That'll be the best therapy of all! Life's an adventure, day by day. I told them at the hospital on the day of my accident that this was a new one I hadn't ever lived before....so I have to take my adventure day by day and roll with the punches - but I'd rather roll with them on the Spyder :).
