• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rock in the belt

Pulled a rock out of my belt. No damage to the pulley that I could see. What are your thoughts? Do I need to replace the belt? I will be ordering a belt guard!

You are going to get a lot of opinions on this. Personally, because I've lost a belt I would suggest having it replaced as soon as practical. If it ever goes while you are on the move it can result in a great inconvenience and there's no good time for it to happen. When my belt separated in two it left me stranded, but I was able to safely maneuver out of traffic to a safe location on the side of the highway. Thank goodness I was in cell range and AAA came to the rescue.

Mine didn't penetrate, thankfully, so I keep a casual eye on it and continue to tour.

I don't know about yours, what kind of riding you do, etc, but it's more damaged than mine so you might want to at least buy a new belt to carry with you.

Any mechanics shop will have the tools to R&R it. Take a copy of the instructions or link to a video for the torque specs, etc.

If you don't change it, I would keep a eye on it, the bad part is when it grenades' your stuck beside the road looking for a ride!

Is there a vendor here that has a good price on the belt and a tensioner? I just got the call yesterday saying that my new pulley and bolt is in. I would like to have the belt replaced and add a tensioner at the same time. My belt has 2 spots like the OP in it. One is a bit smaller, but they were in there for over 8k miles. But with the new pulley being installed, I see it as a chance to replace it and save a little on labor. BTW, my bike has just over 24k miles and is a 2016 F3T.
