• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rock in sprocket

My wife and I had come off a country driveway, down a hill, up a hill, then when pulling out on the hiway, there was a terrible clunking, as though all three wheel axles had jumped out of line. The driveway was that gray traprock... sharp little 1/4 inch or so pieces of gravel. I thought rock, but we couldn't find anything, so I assumed something else broke. Limped home at 30 mph for 60 miles. When i was able to get under it with good lighting I saw the slightest irregularity (bump) on the belt... right at the backside of the back sprocket. Rolled it forward and found the tiny piece of rock firmly wedged in the sprocket. Got it out, and all now seems fine. I guess the question is this: if I visually inspect the belt for any damage, and check the sprocket for any damage, would you think i should still take it to the dealer to have the tension, etc. rechecked, or other potential damage? All seems fine now and there'll probably be snow on the ground here by the time I would get it back from the shop.

The belt tension should not have been effected. There is quite a bit of free play allowed in the tension. If the belt doesn't have a hole clean through it, it should be OK. I would ride it without worry.

Prevention.

I suggest the stone guard from SpyderPops. I put one on my RT. I have 5 miles of stone road to my cabin and don't care to risk it.

:agree: SypderPops all the way! I run on gravel roads all over North/Central Alabama and I was always fearful of similar issues. Have added the "Missing Belt-Guard" from SypderPops and do not worry any more. Going to add one soon to my girlfriends RS. :ohyea:
