• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sorry Tom. Thanks for the info on how to upload photos. It didn't work, so now I've got to figure out how to makes the photos/files smaller. Failing that, I can email them if you want.

Rod.
I can size your photo's and post them if you would like. I want to see how your windshield turned out too!

Try PhotoBucket. It hosts your pictures and you can easily link to them from SpyderLovers or any of the forums.

err ah . . . . .

Thanks Deb -- I've emailed 2 photos to you.

Much appreciated,

Rod.

. . . . sorry, I have been riding, just got in.:opps:

Sorry the instructions didn't work - yeah, there are limits on the size. But, I think you can add them to your Album, under UserCP. I think that will automatically shrink them.

Thanks for sending them to Deb, I will print them up and put them under my pillow until mine arrive. I am very interested in how the BRP shield looks on them.

Have fun on your up-coming ride. Sounds great.

Tom

Thanks Deb. These are with a BRP 23" screen. There's a little vibration in the screen and I think it translates into the byke as the mirrors are moving unlike before.

Did my first longer ryde (1220 km/760 mi) this weekend with the RoboBracket and my 23" BRP screen. Fantastic difference at all speeds with zero buffeting or wind noise from the air stream I used to get on my forehead. It was so bad before, I used to have to wear earplugs -- and which didn't really make much difference.

I was a little concerned with the large screen vibrating and shaking but it isn't a problem other than a little vibration in my mirrors that wasn't there before.

YMMV,

I'm one of those people who doesn't like to see the windscreen... ruins the sporty look.

that said, the stock screen doesn't exactly give you the smoothest airflow at higher speeds.

I'm beginning to think robo brackets on the stock screen might do something...

Anyone tried this yet?

Maybe a smaller version of the 20" they sell with the brackets... lowered all the way for daily driving and up for the long trips?

I just got the email from Madstad stating my RoboBrackets shipped today USPS Priority Mail. I'm going to install them before the ryde to Gatlinburg. :D

I just talked to Mark today. Told him I was 6'5" and I like to sit pretty upright. He said he has a 22in windshield ready to go to production. I am thinking that might be what I should go for. I realy don't want anything bigger than necessary though. I was trying to get a good side look at the whole bike to try to get an idea how high above the bars it goes. Mark had put some new pics on their website and that was kinda what I wanted see. I guess what it really comes down to is trying it. I will post results when ever I get it. Thanks for everybody's help.

I'm seriously considering this as my next mod. At 5'4" I am fine with the F1 EVOIII shield that we have, but my hubby at 6'3" with a short inseam and tall torso the shield is barely adequate for his needs... my thought is that might be just what we need. Has anyone hooked this up to an EVOIII shield. I am worried that the "wings" on the side of the shield might be an issue. Any thoughts?

It is late and I forget who, but there was one rider who put the new BRP Touring Windshield on their Spyder with the RoboBrackets - it worked fine. (just saw that was RodO - see post #31 in this thread) I am not familiar with the measurements of the F1 EVOIII so I cannot comment on that.

But, if you read some of Brian's comments, along with Dragonrider, I think they both are so tall, they have to wear oxygen masks just walking around their houses, even the MadStad shield works for them.
