• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A buddy and I ryding over Friday afternoon from Charlotte to Maggie Valley for Roadrunner Magazines' Touring Weekend 2012. We have to be back in Charlotte Saturday night so we will check out the event on Friday afternoon, stay in Maggie Valley or Asheville Friday night and maybe take a mini-ride up the Blue Ridge Parkway or see what RR is offering. They want $99 for a one day pass that includes, rides, lunch, maps, shirts, dinner and live entertainment, etc. Since we will only be there half the day and miss most of that, we are just checking out the vendors and bikes and heading back about 1pm and skipping the $99.
This year will be the biggest Touring Weekend yet, with more tours, the addition of an off-road guided tour, select vendors, seminars by RoadRunner editors and vendors, outdoor live music, door prizes, great food, and even vintage motorcycles!

For 2012, we selected Maggie Valley, North Carolina as our home base. To accommodate a steadily growing number of participants, we’re adding an extra day of riding or shopping. An expected 400-500 people with gather on motorcycles ranging from baggers to sport bikes, and standards to adventure bikes. Riders can choose between guided or self-guided tours. During sign up you’ll have the chance to select a specific guided tour, and we’ll even accommodate requests to ride with others. Tours are around 200 miles, allowing for several stops along the way for taking in the views, eat lunch, and recharge with some coffee or ice-cream.
